summer vacation

I have decided to enjoy my summer.  I am going to chase fireflies and run through the dark with sparklers.  I am going to eat watermelon and drink lemonade.  I am going to grow tomatoes and grill hamburgers in the back yard.  I am going to skip through sprinklers and make mudpies.

Early last year, I gave up my dream of opening a photo studio in Meridian.  Too many things were pointing me in another direction so I decided to listen to my heart and try something a little different.  For the last couple of years, I have been focusing on exploring new paths, continuing my education, reshooting my portfolio, and working on a few personal projects.

Now I am getting ready for the next leg of this adventure.

But you’ll have to wait till August for the details.  Because I’ll be spending the month of July enjoying my summer without distractions.  :-)

work vs play

I’ve given up my dream of becoming a professional photographer and decided just to be a photographer instead.

Call it a hobby if you want.  But I’ve decided to shoot for the sake of shooting.  That’s why a month ago I announced that I was shooting 100 FREE portraits of 100 people in the 100 days of summer.  No paid work.  Just photography for free.  (Apparently this irritated some people.)

I’ll be devoting my time to playing as a photographer, developing a style of my own, finding my niche in the world of photography, and continuing my education.

If you want photos, just email me.  I am in Little Rock most of the time, Meridian occasionally, and all points in between by request.
